When should I call a technician versus trying a DIY fix?

Past that — anything involving refrigerant, capacitors, contactors, or compressors — needs a licensed technician. EPA Section 608 federal law requires certified handling of any HVAC refrigerant. If the outdoor unit is humming but the fan isn't spinning, or the indoor coil is frozen, stop and call.

What does a ductless mini-split install actually cost?

Industry ranges for a single-zone ductless installation typically run $3,000–$6,000 and multi-zone systems $5,000–$15,000+ depending on head units, BTU capacity, line-set complexity, and electrical work (Energy.gov, HomeGuide 2024 averages). We give a written estimate before any work begins on your specific room, power supply, and unit selection. We do not publish our prices online because the real cost depends on your space — and a published "starting at" number is almost always misleading.

How fast can you get to my house for an emergency?

Technicians are positioned throughout the east corridor — Leeds, Moody, Pinson, Clay, and Springville — and we dispatch to the nearest address first. Real-world response depends on where you are, what hour it is, and how many jobs are already on the board. We do not publish a fixed "response time guarantee" because we are not willing to make a promise we can't keep on every single call. We tell you up front, on the phone, roughly when we expect to arrive.

What is your service radius?

Our primary territory is the I-20 and I-59 east corridor: Leeds, Moody, Pinson, Clay, and Springville. We also take calls along the Trussville border, the Center Point edge, and rural St. Clair County residential. For homes west of I-65 or south of Hoover we will refer you to a partner company rather than over-commit a drive that puts us hours behind on east-side calls.

We work on all major manufacturer brands sold in the Birmingham market: Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, York, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Bryant, American Standard, and Amana. For thermostats and IAQ equipment, Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell, and AprilAire. Parts compatibility covers the vast majority of residential systems installed in Jefferson and St. Clair counties over the last twenty years.

What warranty covers the work?

Accepted Answer

All installed parts carry the manufacturer's factory warranty — typically one to ten years on major components, depending on brand and registration status. Workmanship is warrantied against defect for the duration covered by the parts installed. We give you the warranty details in writing at the time of install. We do not offer a separate "lifetime labor" or similar marketing warranty that requires a lock-in service agreement.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Alabama HVAC license MECH-2024-0847. EPA Section 608 certified for refrigerant handling. NATE-certified technicians. Full liability and property-damage insurance carried on every job. License and insurance documentation is provided in writing at time of service if requested.

We offer free written estimates on new-system installations and ductless mini-split projects. Diagnostic visits on existing equipment carry a standard diagnostic fee which is applied in full toward any authorized repair.
